Photography isn't my job, it's my passion, my art, my joy...my heart. The minute I lift my camera to my eye, everything else around me disappears. The only thing I focus on (pardon the pun), is what I'm seeing through my lens and it's usually never what anyone else sees. Whether it's something *not so* simple as a leaf, a branch, a flower petal, or the sweet face of a newborn, a child, a family, a pet, or a high school senior about to embark on the rest of their life. I always see a story. I feel the story, and I shoot for that story.
So who’s the lady behind the lens? Well, I was born and raised in Westminster, CO, and graduated way back in 1992! My journey with photography began when our oldest son, Noah, graduated from Horizon High School in 2014 and asked me to do his portraits. I quickly fell in love with portrait photography and began my educational deep dive into mastering light, composition, and gear. I spent the next 4 years really learning the art of portrait photography. With the generous support of friends and family, I had plenty of practice and in 2018, I opened my photography studio and I have been loving every minute since!
My husband, Chris, and I have been married since 1996, we have three kids, Noah, Ryan and Emmalee and one crazy husky, Jasper. Sadly, in early 2021, we tragically lost our oldest son, Noah. I struggled with returning to my craft following such a devastating loss, but I was reminded that without Noah, I would have never opened this chapter of my life. He was the one who pushed me the most and always challenged my skills with his crazy photo ideas. So in the summer of 2021, I put my camera strap back around my neck and got back to doing what I love, hopefully making him proud!
I approach every photo session with zero judgment and an open heart. My space is built on understanding, inclusion, and genuine connection with plenty of laughter and a little bit of awkwardness too. I am committed to tailoring each photoshoot to reflect your unique personality and style. Whether you're looking for traditional portraits or creative concept shoots, or a mix of both, I am here to bring your vision to life and ensure that your portraits are a true reflection of who you are.
Senior Photography is my niche, but I also love capturing portraits of families, couples, newborns, little ones, Mamas-to-be and of course family pets!
